Dan Martin sacrificed himself for race leader Michel Kreder on the final stage of the Tour Mediterraneen only to see his Garmin-Barracuda team upstaged by a resilient Jonathan Tiernan-Locke who snatched the stage and overall victory from their grasp.
Dan Martin continued to edge his way up the GC at the Tour of the Mediterranean today after placing 34th on stage three which saw his Garmin-Barracuda teammate Michel Kreder record back-to-back stage wins.
